The Doughdish is a fiberglass reproduction of the original Herreshoff 12 1/2 footer. It is constructed in foam sandwich fiberglass with teak trim. It is built to the exact hull dimensions and rig of the sloops designed by N. G. Herreshoff in 1914. As a result they are able to compete against the wooden boats in class races and regattas.
It is a comfortable and easy daysailer, and a wonderful boat for teaching someone to sail.
Doughdish No. 208 was built by Edey and Duff of Mattapoisett, MA in 1986. TWILIGHT has been well maintained by a knowledgeable owner and benefited from an extensive refurbishment in the spring of 2016. The work completed included: re-finishing of the teak brightwork, painting the decks and new sail covers. This fall, the bottom will be stripped and the gaff jaws will be replaced.
TWILIGHT's sails are recent and the sale does include spinnaker gear, but NO SPINNAKER. An older, but serviceable trailer is also included.
