The Doughdish is a fiberglass reproduction of the original Herreshoff 12 1/2 footer. It is constructed in foam sandwich fiberglass with teak trim. It is built to the exact hull dimensions and rig of the sloops designed by N. G. Herreshoff in 1914. As a result they are able to compete against the wooden boats in class races and regattas.
It is a comfortable and easy daysailer, and a wonderful boat for teaching someone to sail.
Doughdish No. 159 was built by Edey and Duff of Mattapoisett, MA in 1983 and remains in great condition. She has been maintained here a Ballentine's Boat Shop for many years with yearly working including, varnishing all brightwork, oiling bare teak, and maintaining a racing finish below the waterline.
TIGER MOTH represents a great package for any inspiring H Class sailor. DD159's sale includes sails (main and jib – new 2016) and a cockpit cover. She DOES NOT include a trailer, but a cradle is included.
